Problems/Concerns

There are many problems/concerns that people have about their septic systems. These can range from the minor systems check to the major reinstallation of a septic system. Location of septic/holding tank

We have found over the years that many home owners do not know the exact location of their septic/holding tank. As the photo above shows, when someone does not know where the tank is located, the only thing that can be done is to dig test holes in the general area of the tank. A trick one can use to locate a tank is to use a metal detector which will pick up the metal handles of the tank. But if you have a plastic tank, sadly this trick will not work for you.

It is recommended that you make a map to help locate the tank when needed. Use a measuring tape and a point of reference (such as the corner of the house/shed/deck/etc...) and map out the location of your septic tank on a piece of paper. Once complete, store the map in a secure location where you can easily find it in the future.
