Portable Toilet Information
OOPS Toilettes Portatives
Inc. uses Canadian made PolyJohn portable toilets purchased
from Rama Plastics located in Orillia Ontario. Buying Canadian
made toilets ensures us of a quality made toilet and a fast
and continuous supply of parts. Portable toilets are very versatile
and can come in many various configurations and colors. When
we order toilets they arrive unassembled and in many pieces,
to assemble a toilet usually requires 1-2 hours. Once assembled
they are then catalogued and our name and logo is added and
the toilet is ready for rental. A question often asked is "How
much do they cost?" Approximately $1100.00 Cdn (No we are
not joking, they cost that much).
Portable
toilets need regular care and maintenance to keep them clean
and functioning properly. This can range from a simple wipe-down
with a rag and cleaning products, to full-blown servicing with
a hot water pressure wash system and special chemicals. Toilets
are normally pressure washed and sanitized between rentals to
ensure a high degree of hygiene.
Usually the common
steps in servicing a portable toilet includes first pumping
of the waste in the tank, the replacement of the water and chemicals
in the tank and a thorough cleaning with disinfectants specially
made for portable toilets.
.
When delivering a portable toilet to a client there are a few
important steps to consider when setting it up. An empty toilet
weights approximately 80 kg or 175 lbs, with a full tank the
toilet can weight over 300 lbs.
- First, it should
sit on a firm level surface. If the surface is not level
the toilet moves and is unstable. In very uneven ground the
toilet
could tip over while someone is inside.
- Second, make sure
the unit is located in a place where we can
service it. There are times where this will not be the case
and the
client wants it in a certain place where it is hard to get
at,. If we can't
get to the toilet, how are you going to service it? Our 1
ton service
truck has a 25 ft hose.
- Third, we highly
recommend the signing of a contract as soon as
the unit is delivered. The customer inspects the unit, we
note any
defects or problems and the client then signs the contract
which
informs him/her that they are responsible for the unit. The
unit has a
$1000.00 replacement value and is normally covered by the
homeowners insurance policy.
The contract also
stipulates the cost, cleaning schedule, delivery and pickup
times, contacts and any special requirements. Toilets are normally
paid on delivery for weekly, weekend or daily rentals.
In normal toilet rentals we supply 2 rolls of single ply commercial
grade toilet paper. The paper is replenished as required at
every additional cleaning.
We also ask that small children are supervised when using the
toilet.
